1. Name of the Competition

2. Purpose of the Competition

The competition aims to promote interest in the games industry, the game development profession, and its history.

3. Timing of the Competition

The competition follows these deadlines:

  • Competition announcement: August 1, 2024, at 00:00 UTC+3;
  • Submission deadline: July 28, 2025, at 23:59 UTC+3;
  • Judging begins: August 7, 2025, at 18:00 UTC+3;
  • Audience Choice Award voting starts: August 7, 2025, at 12:00 UTC+3;
  • End of public voting: August 20, 2025, at 23:59 UTC+3;
  • End of judges' voting: August 20, 2025, at 23:59 UTC+3;
  • Winners announced: August 30, 2025.

7. Who Can Participate

Participation is open to anyone except members of the selection committee.

Participants may enter as individuals or teams. If participating as a team, one representative must be designated to act on behalf of the team. If the team wins, the prize is awarded to the representative.

Minors may participate with parental competition.

8. Submission Requirements

  • All submissions must be original and developed for the ZX Spectrum 48K/128K platform.
  • The game must not be a sequel, prequel, remake, demake, or any other derivative of a copyrighted game.
  • Even if a game is not copyrighted, direct remakes or demakes are not allowed.
  • The final decision on a game’s eligibility is made by the head judge.
  • The game must not be published elsewhere before the competition results are announced.
  • The game must not be entered into other competition or exhibitions before or during YRGB 2025.

The requirement of any peripherals beyond Kempston, Sinclair, Cursor-joysticks, and the Beta Disk Interface (TR-DOS) is prohibited.

There are no genre restrictions.

To submit a game, participants must complete an application form on the website (via the "Register" button) and upload their game by July 28, 2025, at 23:59 UTC+3.

9. Winner Selection Criteria

Once uploaded, games will be available for public viewing and play on the competition website.

Judges will score each game in three categories on a 10-point scale:

  • Gameplay
  • Graphics
  • Sound

The top three games in each category will receive prizes. If multiple games receive the same score, the winner is decided by the head judge.

The "Audience Choice Award" is given to the game with the most public votes. Each voter can cast one vote per game on the competition website, however number of games you can vote for is not limited. Judges reserve the right to void suspicious or manipulated votes.

10. Prizes

  • 1st place: $300*
  • 2nd place: $200*
  • 3rd place: $150*

Graphics Category

  • 1st place: $300*
  • 2nd place: $200*
  • 3rd place: $150*

Sound Category

  • 1st place: $300*
  • 2nd place: $200*
  • 3rd place: $150*

Audience Choice Award

  • Winner: $200*

* The prize amounts are as follows: 30,000 rubles for 1st place, 20,000 rubles for 2nd place, 15,000 rubles for 3rd place, and 20,000 rubles for the "Audience Choice Award." Please note that the actual payment in dollars may vary slightly due to currency exchange rates at the time of payment.

Prize amounts are net of personal income tax, which is covered by the organisers.

For non-Russian winners, the prize will be paid in USD or EUR at the Central Bank of Russia’s exchange rate on the payment date.

11. Competition Results Announcement

Final results will be published on August 26, 2025, on the competition website.

12. Prize Provider

Prizes are provided by the competition organiser.

13. How Prizes Are Awarded

To claim the prize, winners must submit documents depending on their country of residence.

For Non-Russian & Non-Belarusian Citizens

  • Scanned copy of passport or another valid ID
  • Signed consent form (provided by organisers)

For Russian Citizens

  • Scanned copy of passport or another valid ID
  • Scanned copy of taxpayer registration certificate (INN) (if available)
  • Scanned copy of SNILS (Social Security Number)
  • Signed consent form (provided by organisers)

For Belarusian Citizens

  • Scanned passport with photo and official translation into Russian
  • Scanned proof of registration (propiska)
  • Signed consent form (provided by organisers)

The organisers will ship the prizes via post or courier to an address agreed upon with the winners. Prizes will be shipped no later than October 1, 2025.

14. Copyright to the works created by the participants

Submission of the results of intellectual activity (RIA) by uploading them to the competition website means that the Participant agrees that from the moment of such uploading the Participant grants the Organiser a royalty-free simple (non-exclusive) licence in respect of the uploaded RIA. Within the framework of this licence, the Organiser may make the RIA publicly available, as well as use the RIA by reproduction, processing and adaptation, public display/performance, making it available to the public on the Internet. The granting of such a licence is a mandatory condition for participation in the competition. The licence is granted for the territory of all countries of the world and for the entire term of validity of the exclusive rights to the intellectual property. The Participant has the right to unilaterally revoke (terminate) the granted licence after 30 (thirty) days from the date of uploading by sending a notice to the Organiser's email: mikhail-sudakov@yandex.ru. The Organiser is obliged to stop using the RIA within 10 (ten) days from the date of receipt of the notice.

The Participant also agrees that the Participant's name/pseudonym and the title of the RIA will be used as the name/pseudonym of the author of the RIA, as well as the title of the RIA, indicated when uploading the RIA.

The terms of this clause are special in relation to clauses 4.5-4.7 of the General Terms and Conditions, and in case of conflict between them, the terms of this clause shall apply.
