GameplayA true official spin-off — great to see franchises appear. No story mode like Travel Through Time, but that doesn’t hurt. For some, pure arcade racing is even more enjoyable — for me too! Many modes, tracks, cars, so you just can’t get bored.

10

GraphicsDevelopers improved the TTT engine, and their new game left others far behind. In smoothness and responsiveness, Travel Unlimited has no rival. Even with several cars onscreen, framerate holds. Visually superb: detailed cars, diverse tracks, varying routes and colors. The best ZX Spectrum racer!

10

SoundIn any racing game the key is engine sound: it must match speed and not irritate. Travel Unlimited handles it perfectly: in-race sound helps orient and doesn’t disturb. Other sounds are fine, title screen has a nice tune, and there’s quality digitized speech.

GameplayGreat game. It brought back memories of Chase HQ.

7

GraphicsExcellent pixel work. I failed the game so many times because I was looking at the details in the cars.

8

SoundPerfect for this kind of game. It didn't need anything more in my opinion.

GameplayHard to get anywhere — I can't even finish the first race! It's easier and looks better than 'Full Throttle' though. It's fun trying at least and makes you want to do better though.

8

GraphicsNice loading screen showing 2 well drawn cars. In game graphics are great, some well rendered cars with convincing turning animations. Road is nice and smooth.

8

SoundGood 128 music on the title screen. Superb speech at start, nice and clear. In game effects work well.

GameplayAn improved version of Travel Through Time, very fast and fluid, seveveral cars, but on the repetitive side and unoriginal

9

GraphicsVery good scenaries, not groundbreaking as TTT

9

SoundVery good, but also a repetition from TTT

El Mundo del Spectrum

7

SoundGood music, sound effects, and even voices.

GameplayThis is technically a very well made game and was a lot of fun to play. It does, however, feel like a hybrid of code from some of the authors previous games and doesn't quite stand on its own for that reason.

8

GraphicsThe car sprites are very well drawn, and the road effects also work well and give a sense of speed. In general however it made me want to play a racing game on a more powerful machine.

8

SoundThe speech is great, and the sound effects do their job. I would have liked some kind of simple tune whilst drive, as you might find in Outrun.
