GameplayAt first, Cubix seems like just a fun platformer — Smirnov is good at those. But in minutes it gains a third dimension (almost) and becomes even better. And each level surprises with new tricks. The great engine is enhanced with varied gameplay — the right approach!

GraphicsThe game lacks color — some accents would ease the eyes. Otherwise it’s great: smooth scrolling, well-drawn objects, and when they suddenly become 3D, it blows your mind. Both beautiful and technically impressive.

GameplayError on starting the game. Says 'Stop Tape And Press Any Key' — any key doesn't work, you have to press 'ENTER'. Game is addictive, levels are cleverly designed, fiendishly so. It has that 'Just one more go' factor. Before you know it you've lost hours.

GraphicsBrilliant loading screen — well drawn. Beautiful star field on menu, one of the best I've seen on the Spectrum. Nice style on the static intro sequence graphics. When 3D effect kicks in your mouth drops. Would have definitely gained a Crash Smash had it b
